The new update v0.4 is live!

From March to June, that's quite the delay isn't it? True. Truth is, even working 10-hour days, things take time when researching new innovations is involved, and I, Morgan Chabaud, have been the only person working on it since the start. The motto that goes in here is: if an improvement can be made in less than a week, it's better to delay... up to a point. I've been working relentlessly to get this update online and hope you will enjoy it. What's new:

Development is not done yet, some areas need more work still, especially on signature detection, but it rarely prevents learning a track. As the transcription quality has improved a lot on this update, the extra files have a lot more value because you are able to personalize the transcription as much as you want. For someone that just want a transcription to play a track, you don't need them. On the other hand, it can saves hours for someone else wanting to make his personnal sheet music, which is a considerable time saver. Thus, the extra files price is increased to a fairer value: 5€. That being said, Drumscrib is still in beta and unexpected issues can happen, so extra files are eligible for a refund if the transcription is unusable.

As always, please reach out if there are any issues! Don't really expect much posting on social media for now, as I keep full focus on improving the algorithms and the website. You can still subscribe to the Drumscrib page of your preferred social media (links at the bottom of the page), it will help Drumscrib.

Adagio o vivace, make the world spin around at your own tempo!

Update v0.4 will come up in a few weeks. The delay is the result of some good news because we very recently developped an improved algorithm that was not expected for this version. As a token of our appreciation for your patience, you can have a look at the following transcription made with the new version which showcases the new notations for some snare techniques.

Happy new year!

Just a quick update to let you know that a lot of hard work has already been done for the next update, but it's not quite ready yet. We are looking forward to release the v0.4 in the first quarter!

Keep the beat pumping!

Finally! The long-awaited 0.3 update is live. What's new? Mainly, better drum sheet music! Here are the details:

For transcriptions made with version 0.2, you can now click on the "request an update" button on the sheet music from your account page. If you have any issue requesting corrections, please send us an email!

What's next? The main goals for version 0.4 are: fixing most of the remaining note detection errors (we currently detect more than 95% of notes on average, but it can be less sometimes, usually because of recording quality and mix), and adding flams and ghost notes. Right after this, we will add unrestricted signature detection (other than 4/4 and 12/8) and fix cases where measures are not correctly placed (e.g., drum patterns starting on the third beat of 4/4 measure when it should be on the first).

Important note: For audio uploads, we currently recommend using original audio (with or without other instruments). And we advise against using external AI drum separation, as some algorithms aren't good enough and distort cymbal sounds.

Hello,

We wish you a happy new year, and hope that your groove will be strong!

It has been quite a while since our last news. We — a very small "team" — are working hard to improve the transcription algorithm, and we really thought we could update more frequently. However, by wanting to solve most issues for the next version, we've been delaying the update repeatedly... The next update will come, but we want to apologize for not being able to update faster. Improvements in one area are often followed by noticing issues in other areas. And, we really want to make considerable improvements across the whole range of drumming styles for the next update... Sometimes, it feels like we reached a good level for an update, but then we find some songs that don't quite work, which results in additional delays.

We truly appreciate all the support we receive, it helps a lot. Really. Thank you.
We are doing everything possible to bring the next update live soon. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to email us if a transcription is unreadable, we will give you access to another one of your choice.

The new beta version 0.2 is live! For this update, we've essentially focused on removing sounds mistaken for drums. And the cymbal detection has also been improved. We're very happy to see that everything works correctly. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question!

Hello everybody, we need a few more days for the version 0.2. Thank you for your patience!

A small update! We have made good progress on improving the automatic transcription, especially for notes that were mistaken for drums. We will push these updates in the version 0.2. It will come online early next week. However, jazz works are still not very accurate at the moment, we'll focus on this a bit more. Thank you to everyone that asked for sheet music so far! Don't forget to ask for a transcription update to correct the small mistakes when the new version is available!
